Bag it.
If you think that paying for excess luggage is okay as long as you have everything you need – you’re wrong. Most of the time, at least 30% of what’s in your bag is and what you think you need aren’t really necessary and won’t get used during your trip. Now before you start scratching your head and pulling out everything, have a seat, pull out a piece of paper and a pen and better take note of these few tips on how you can save from excess baggage and a free hand.

Use a bag with lots of pockets. This allows you to organize your things, leaving more room for what you need to bring. Put your toiletries in one pocket, make up in another and leave another one for soiled clothes.
Roll your clothes or use a Space Bag. A space bag is a small plastic container that allows you to pump out all the air inside it, thus compressing all your clothes and saves you space. If you don’t have a space bag, you can roll your clothes instead of folding them. It’s a lot less bulkier than stacking your favorite clothes
Bring multi-purpose products. Forget about bringing your whole make-up suit case or your relaxation set. Instead, look for those items that have multiple uses like a bottle of shampoo-conditioner, make-up palette, a scarf, a jacket, a Swiss Knife. All these items can save you so much room from bringing 1 item for 1 purpose.
Mix and match. Don’t bring your whole wardrobe, for crying out loud. We know it’s really picking out what you should and should not bring, and worst, there will be moments you’d wish you could have worn or brought something else. Well, it’s inevitable. What you should bring would be 1 outfit for a special occasion (for dinner, an unexpected date perhaps, or just that spontaneous thing you’d need a good outfit for), a pair of jeans, a dress and tops you could easily match with everything. You can use a scarf or a cap to accessorize in a jiffy!
Ease up on the gadgets. Actually, bringing gadgets makes you bring more things – like spare battery, a console, chargers, etc. Bring only necessary gadgets, if you have 1 piece of electronics that pretty much makes up for everything else then that’s a blessing. If not, bring your phone to stay connected and 1 gadget that will keep you entertained for those long waits – the rest, just let them rest at home.
It’s pretty simple how to pack light. Sometimes, people just over-analyze their trips that’s why they end up bringing more than what they need. Try to be more spontaneous and independent. Of course, never ever forget your survival kit!
